Trump’s top security and intelligence officials have been caught out discussing an ultra-sensitive military operation just prior to launch, on an easily compromised commercial messaging app with a reporter accidentally patched in – an unprecedented security breach on so many levels — even as Trump’s DOJ invokes the state secrets privilege to avoid having to answer a judge’s questions about a potentially massive violation of deportation law and due process. The confluence of these two events demonstrates that contempt, hypocrisy and stupidity are equal opportunity offenders in this administration, making a mockery of every conceivable notion of national security and official secrecy and every pretense to lawful and responsible governance. The Trumpites have in a wink disqualified themselves as anything resembling worthy custodians of our precious democracy and constitution – or even an outdoor toilet.
